This is tricky, because "salary" means it's not paid on an hourly basis. If your salary is $29,000 per year, then you get $29,000 per year regardless of whether you work 40 hours a week or 80 hours a week or even 120 hours a week (it's generally a tacit assumption that salaried personnel will work a minimum of 40 hours a week, with expectations of 50 or even higher being not uncommon).

You can, however, convert an annual salary to an hourly wage in rough terms by dividing the annual salary by 2000. The result is approximately what you'd need to make per hour if you were paid hourly and worked 40 hours per week to earn the same amount of money overall.

So someone with a $29,000 annual salary and working 40 hours per week is making roughly $14.50 an hour. This isn't QUITE right because there aren't exactly 50 weeks per year, but it's close.
