Most often professional fence painters are paid by the linear foot. Prices vary depending on the fence construction, height and material (paint/stain) used.

On an average 6-8ft tall accoustic/privacy fences with both sides being painted, 2 coats using a mid quality paint your roughly looking at $4.00+ a linear foot including paint.

One makes as much as the effort they put into working. Depends also upon the sizes of the jobs being done ... larger jobs earn more money, obviously. The sky is the limit for earnings.

I sell fences and decks in Texas. I make any where from 4 to 12% commission. Personally I make about $75,000 to $100,000 per year.
