A Union Ironworker earns way more than their non-Union counterpart. A non-Union Ironworker might make 15-30 bucks an hour depending on the generosity of the company they work for. A Union Ironworker has to go through a three year apprenticeship program where they receive training which makes them worth much more. A union Ironworker gets what we in the biz call a "Package". What the package consists of is an hourly rate, between 20-40 dollars an hour depending on the Local you are working for. Money for a pension credit which is 7 to 11 dollars per hour.
