As a professional hair stylist, I feel it is fair to tip a minimum of 20% of the service. We work very hard at pleasing our clients and when I receive a tip below that of 20%, it makes me feel as if the client was not appreciative of my work.
At least 15%, or 20% in the stylist does a good job and you can afford a larger tip.
if you want her to respect you.
It would not be customary to tip the salon owner, or any other stylist, unless he personally cut your hair.
The cost of a haircut depends on where the person goes to get it cone. Please do not forget to leave a tip for the stylist.
Yes, think of it this way........when you get a hair cut,or when your child gets a hair cut do you tip the stylist?I do.A groomers job is more difficult, the dog or cat squirms, maybe even nips, but when you pick up your precious pet they look great and the groomer never complains. So my answer is yes by all means tip the groomer at least $2-3 dollars. Henbane: Dog grooming is a service and not always an easy or a well paid one so a good thing to do is tip. If you can tip a hair stylist, waitress and even the person who carries your groceries to your car, you can tip your groomer.
Yes, absolutely. Chances are he or she is a small business owner, and that means the person will really appreciate a few extra dollars. I have a close friend who owns a hair salon and she also works long hours as a stylist in her shop. She loves her work, but a tip is a nice way for customers to say they appreciate what the stylist or beautician has done. In this case, it's especially appropriate since the owner also cuts your hair.
A typical gratuity for a hair salon ranges from 15% to 20% of the total service cost. For exceptional service, you might consider tipping more, while for unsatisfactory experiences, a lower percentage may be appropriate. It's also common to tip each stylist or technician individually if multiple people work on your hair. Ultimately, the amount you choose to tip should reflect your satisfaction with the service.

A minimum of at least 20% on a hair color service is much appreciated.
A tip of a human hair is typically larger than a transistor. Transistors, being microscopic devices used in electronic circuits, are much smaller in size compared to the diameter of a human hair.
