It's a diver that stays submerged in really deep water for a very long time.
To become a saturation diver you must first qualify and work as an air diver. Once you have a set amount of logged dive hours, working in surface supplied equipment in open water, you can complete a training course to gain your saturation (also known as mixed gas or closed bell) diving certification. The Underwater Centre in Tasmania provides ADAS diving certifications in both air and saturation diving, and The Underwater Centre in Fort William provides HSE diving certifications in both air and saturation diving. Both ADAS and HSE certificatoins are internationally recognised, allowing you to work anywhere in the world.
You go to the Army Diver School at Key West, Florida. You must be a Special Forces qualified soldier assigned to a unit with an underwater mission to be accepted...and the school is one of the three most physically-demanding schools the military has.

when u learn how to dive
Saturation Divers also dive shallow water by the way, I have worked as a Sat Diver the past 6 years and I started like many going to a Dive school then working in the industry for a while, you have to start at the bottom, become a tender, tender/diver, diver, ect... all depends on what you want to do. Sat diving is used not mainly for depth it allows max depth through HeO2 satuaration but the main reason is to be able to work undersea for longer periods of time.... look up Commercial Dive Schools first... do that then take a few years as a diver in the industry, I attended INPP for my Sat Course.
Scuba Diving International (SDI) is a SCUBA training and certification agency. It is the recreational arm of Technical Diving International, the world's largest technical diver training organization.SDI is the only diver training agency that requires students to have access to a modern dive computer on all dives during training from the very start. SDI is also unique amongst recreational diver training organisations in that it recognises solo diving as part of recreational diving, and offers a special training course relating to it.Every other major recreational diver training organisation mandates diving with a "buddy" at all times. SDI is a member of The World Recreational Scuba Training Council.
Recreational scuba divers only need to undertake a short course to be qualified (or "certified" using industry jargon). The certification process for a basic open water diver normally takes about 5-6 days.Commercial divers usually undertake some kind of vocational training, but this is not usually done through a college or university.
