There are many different federations with different pay scales but a quick answer is this.... as of 2010 hourly wage employees earn 32.74 dollars an hour at the operator level. This includes mechanics, I&E techs, measurement techs, and electricians. Yearly works out to be right at 100,000.00 a year... ish. Entry level employees (typically entry level for 6-12 months) earn about 25-26 an hour. After the required "probation period" they are normally bumped up to operator pay. There are yearly pay increases normally about 3-5% of your annual salary and a bonus of about 2-10 thousand. field operators (pumpers) and plant operators make less hourly but are on a 7 days(nights) on and 7 off which earns them more money over time. Also two paid vaction weeks off to start no waiting time.... Not a bad gig really.
