In the US most states require a minor to be 14 years old to obtain a job. They have to have a work permit from their school, and they are restricted in the number of hours they can work during the school year. There are also certain jobs they are not allowed to have as being hazardous and too dangerous for someone that young. There are some options in some states for 12 and 13 year olds including shining shoes and delivering papers.
