The minimum age to work at a tanning salon varies by location and is subject to state and federal labor laws. In most states, individuals must be at least 18 years old to work in a tanning salon due to the potential health risks associated with tanning bed use. It is important for tanning salons to comply with age restrictions to ensure the safety and well-being of their employees and customers. Prospective employees should check with their local labor department for specific age requirements in their area.

At my work all the girls who work at the tanning salon get free tanning. I'm sure it depends from salon to salon. The reason we get free tanning is so we can look tan, if a customer comes in to tan, and they see someone pale behind the desk, they will think the tanning beds at that salon don't work. Basically giving us free tanning makes us a walking billboard, someone will ask me where I tan and I will say my work name, and then they will go there because I look so tan. Simple

In Wisconsin, individuals must be at least 18 years old to use tanning beds at a tanning salon. Minors aged 16 or 17 can tan but require written consent from a parent or guardian. Additionally, children under 16 are prohibited from using tanning equipment altogether. It's important for salons to adhere to these age restrictions to ensure safety and compliance with state regulations.
