There isn't a 'legal' age. It's pretty much whatever the parents want. That if, of course, if you are just watching kids for a family you know. However, if you want to get a job at a child care place, then it depends on the place itself I'm a teacher in Delaware and I think that when you are 16 you are able to watch a child approperatly, because you would have gone through the Red Cross training and you are more likely to handle a crises more smoothly as than a 13 year old
