Any salary is possible if the working conditions are bad enough or the employer is desperate enough. Assume a contract plumber making a home call charges $100/hr for his employer. This would be only 850 hrs work a year.

Assuming 2000 hrs/yr this would be 45 $/hr. High but not extreme. The big secret is that if it sounds too good - check it out. Phone a plumber in the city the offer comes from and ask him. He's likely to provide honest advice to you.
