Sound is actually not an object. It is the ability for vibrations to occur in a medium with a regular fixation of vibrations (Hz). The speed of sound is then again variable, depending on what medium it is travelling through. Like it travels 3 times slower in air at sea level than what it would than sound in 60 degree water because of the water's density levels (compactness of the molecules to transfer the sound easier and quicker). Sound in metal is still faster, it is roughly 16 times faster than sound in air at sea level. So as you can see you have to be specific about the speed of sound and in what medium. Light of course can be comparable to sound because it travels in a similar fashion to what sound does. It has amplitude , Hz, a period and travels in waves (propagated). So the answer to the question is that light is the fastest known thing. We still do not know too much about light, as we know what it is and what it does and we still have no idea what light is.
When speed of object become greater than the speed of sound the waves are produce known as Shock waves.

The speed of light is much greater than the speed of sound.
Not the speed of sound.
Yes.
When travelling faster than the speed of sound (supersonic speed), a sonic boom is created. This is a loud noise produced when an object passes through the air at a speed greater than the speed of sound. It can be disruptive and can lead to regulations on supersonic flight over populated areas.
Sonar uses sound waves to measure distances by calculating the time it takes for the sound waves to bounce back. However, when an object is traveling faster than the speed of sound, the sound waves emitted by the sonar system cannot catch up with the object to bounce back, making it impossible to accurately determine the speed of the object using sonar.
An unbalanced force acting on an object can change its speed and direction. If the force is greater than the opposing forces, such as friction or air resistance, the object will accelerate in the direction of the force. The greater the unbalanced force, the greater the change in speed and direction of the object.
Yes, a sonic boom is created when an object travels at a speed greater than the speed of sound (Mach 1). At Mach 2 (twice the speed of sound), the sonic boom would be more intense and audible due to the faster speed.
The speed of light is the speed at which electromagnetic waves propagate through a medium. The speed of sound is the speed at which acoustic waves propagate through a medium. As the speed of sound relies on the medium moreso than the speed of light, sound propagates much slower than light.
speeds lower than the speed of sound is known as the subsonic speed. speeds greater than the speed of sound is supersonic (mach 1) and speeds that are many times above the speed of sound (above mach 0) are known as hypersonic sounds.
