Urologists handle the medical and surgical management of problems of the urinary tract in adults and children, men and women (such as kidney stones, prostate enlargement , bladder overactivity, incontinence, bladder cancer, bladder kidney), and medical or surgical problems of the male genitalia or reproductive system (such as vasectomies, male infertility, infections, undescended testis and cancers of prostate, testicles, and penis).

A typical week will include seeing patients in the office and doing minor procedures and cystoscopies in the office, doing major surgeries in the hospital and outpatient surgeries at a couple different outpatient centers such as an ambulatory surgery center and a kidney stone center, and taking emergency call every 3rd to 5th weeknight and every 3rd to 5th weekend for most urologists.
