Should students have a part-time job?

I have custody of my 16 year old brother. He would like to get a job. Here is my standpoint on this

1) I think only if grades in school are good to begin with, and don't go down alot after starting work

2) As long as the job doesn't make him too tired to get up in the morning.

3) As long as it's a job that follow child labor laws

I think it's good for a teenager to learn about responsibilities, money handling etc.

It realy depends on how old they are. If they are going to have to buy their own car and pay for gas. Its a good idea because it keeps them doing somthing almost all the time. Also it keeps them away from drugs and, it gives them money to do stuff on the weekend instead of having to take it from there parents.

Well, ask yourself should my kid need a job? Then think up a bunch of reasons why, then you have the answer. No need to ask me, ask yourself.

Another view: Kids should be allowed to have jobs because they can give ideas to a business that could help bring in other kids.

If you want. That's pretty much the best answer. If you are in highscool or middle school then it is your job to go to school. If you are in college, well you would not be the first.
