sometimes a temper with peasants & lords about amount of money payed , counted or even given.
In some places, peasants earned nothing and just worked for their lord. Otherwise food could be payment, or small amounts of money to buy products from Blacksmiths, Bakers or other salesmen. Nothing larger than about £5.00 at the very most.
