What are the working conditions for a detective?

I am an officer. My days usually start the same. After that, there is nothing typical about it. When I wake up, I find something to eat. After the food settles, I get a workout in. I then spend an hour or so with my wife and kids. Next, I get my uniform and equipment ready for work. I then shower, shave, and put on my gear. Putting on all of the equipment usually takes about 45 minutes or so. After that, I pray to the Lord to watch over my partners and I as we watch over his people. I pray that he brings me home safely to my family. Then it's off to work. During my shift, I will answer calls for service about almost anything humanly imaginable and some things that are not. I stop vehicles for traffic infractions as well. I assist firefighters with first aid and rescue. I put myself in danger to try and keep evil people from hurting, stealing from, or taking advantage of the inocent. Most of whom, I don't even know. Sometimes I get a chance to laugh and joke with my partners. Police work also requires that you fill out a lot of paperwork. At the end of my shift, I am happy to be home.

It depends on the country, the specific position of the officer, and the specific location. Some police officers have the same boring daily grind, and some officers will not have two days in a row that are "routine;" since every day is different.

The job environment for a detective is not clean or pretty. They have to physically go into the location where the crime has been committed and handle things that most of us would not like to touch. They may need to work long hours at a time; they usually can't discuss their work at home; they see things and find things about people and what they can do that would discourage most people. And when they get back to their office, it won't be fancy and they will have to make out a lot of boring paperwork. Many like it because it is a challenge to their perseverance and intellect.

You must be able to work outside and inside. You also must be patient and listen to people and not give in. No one is really able to do this job perfectly because no one can do a great job at being able to do all of these things right.

It is possible to do a great or awesome job as a detective but you must not have a weak stomach because you will have to see some type of guts or remains in your career and you must be available at all times.
