In England, they call a cafeteria a 'caf'. This is the informal slang expression, but widely used. They also may call it a cafeteria or a cafe, pronounced 'kaffay'.

In America, a cafeteria is called a cafeteria or a cafe. The traditional cafes are disappearing, but cafeteria-style restaurants are still around, especially in the Midwest and south. They are still often found in colleges, hospitals, or large companies, because they require fewer employees than other restaurants.
