I have researched this topic to try and assist in finding the best schools for MRI Technician training. I have found that the top schools are Kaplan University, Virginia College and Keiser University.
MRI Price Range : Hospitals (3) - $1750 to $2200 and Outpatient Imaging Centers (4) - $700-$1000. But I think those in hospitals get discounts depending on the hospital itself.
To be an MRI tech you would first start with some schooling to become an x ray tech. You would need to learn anatomy of the body and math and science. Then you would need training to do MRIs.
If the MRI technologist positions you with your leg going into the magnet (the MRI machine) then your head would be out of it. Call the facility where you are scheduled to have the MRI and ask to speak with the MRI technologist and they can fully explain to you exactly how you will be positioned.
