I think sometimes we have too much welfare in the United States! I understand needing a system to help the old and disabled, but we have become a nation that for the most part has crippled and made a large majority of the people lazy and dependent on others unstead of working and becoming self sufficient. The saying is so true, "If you give a man a fish, you feed him for the day, but if you teach a man to fish, you feed him for life." I look around the area where I live and see the never ending cycle of poverty and welfare continuing, because it starts from the ground up. If a mother teaches her children (by example) that she doesn't have to work, for rent, groceries, spending money, cell phone, etc..., because she gets a check each month, what does that say to that child. That child grows up doing what they have seen and know to do. Live the best you can, with the money the Government gives you. Most people on welfare are capable of working, but chose not to; why work, when I can sleep late, sit around all day, watching t.v., pay my bills, buy groceries, talk on my cell, stay up late, etc... when I get my pay check at the first of the month, WITHOUT WORKING!!! Welfare can be a good thing but, at this point in time, it has crippled a nation and made people lazy and needy. One of my favorite sayings is:
If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you've always got, it nothing changes, nothing changes.....
