when you separate the 2 main gases in the air, oxygen and nitrogen. this relies on them both having diff boiling points. nitrogen= -196 and oxygen= -187
first they have to compress and expand the air continuosly until it turns into liquid air. then you heat it, the nitrogen boils off first, and the oxygen is left at the bottom of the fractionating column. so then you have pure oxygen and nitrogen. they both now can be used for several things.
if your wondering what happens to the rest of thee siubstances oin the air well, carbon dioxide and the water freeze as water has got a freezing point of 0, and carbon dioxide has got a freezing pint of -78.
hope that helped :-)
Most of the gases in air, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon and others are obtained by fractional distillation of liquid air.
By fractional distillation of air.
Argon (and the other noble gases) is separated by fractional distillation of liquid air.
fractional distillation method
They normally get xenon from fractional distillation of air.
By fractional distillation of liquefied air.
From the fractional distillation of the liquid air.
By fractional distillation of liquid air.
Air components are separated by fractional distillation.
Nitrogen
Neon is obtained from air by fractional distillation.
It is made by fractional distillation of liquid air.
