A chiropractic assistant or CA is a generic term for a person employed by a chiropractor to assist in chiropractic procedures and in running the office. Often a CA will be employed to work the front desk and assist in scheduling and greeting patients. In addition the CA may assist with submitting claims to third party payers. Some CAs are also trained to assist in setting up physical therapy modalities such as therapeutic ultrasound or interferential stimulation. Most states do not require any official training, education, or certification to become a CA. Training usually comes in the form of on-the-job training by your chiropractic employer. Most CAs make between $7-$12/hr.

This would entirely depend on the specific job description and the chiropractor hiring the assistant. Different chiropractors will use an assistant to perform different task, dependant on how the doctor treats, what specialty he/she is in, etc. Chiropractic assistants can make as little as minimum wage to significantly more than minimum wage. Sometimes chiropractors will hire students of chiropractic, or recently graduated chiropractors to be assistants, they will be paid relatively well and will have extensive roles in the care of patients (history taking, application of physiotherapeutic modalities, rehabilitative exercise instruction/supervision, etc.). Other chiropractors will hire high-school graduates, pay them minimum wage and only expect them to perform menial tasks (change paper, run errands, apply heat/ice packs, etc.)
"chiropractic" or "chiropractor" is not capitalized unless it is part of a title.
