The screenwriter writes a detailed description of the film to be shot. Many compare it to blueprints for a building. For a feature film, (a full length movie normally released in theaters) the screenplay must follow a specific form or style, and normally be between 90 and 125 pages. The screenwriter tells the movie story in a series of scenes, describes where and what happens in each scene with the characters who are in the story, and writes what the characters will say - the dialogue.
