It depends what kind of animals, and in what capacity. Many would say veterinarian for dealing with the health of common domestic animals. Those who work at a zoo have the opportunity to deal with more exotic animals. Ranchers and farmers deal with livestock such as cows, horses, pigs, etc. For the more scientifically inclined, zoology is a branch of Biology dedicated to the study of the structure, function, behavior, and evolution of animals, within which there are many subdisciplines.
There are many jobs working with animals, some require a college degree, such as Zoo Keeper. A zoo keeper would take care of all the zoo's biggest animals like elephants to very tiny birds.
In most cities there are organizations which protect and care for lost animals or who rescue hurt animals from people who do not take good care of them: Humane Society, County Animal Patrol and animal adoption agencies.
There are many jobs which require the love of animals and the willingness care for them. A few of these jobs would be: working in a pet shop, washing animals, pet-sitting for families on vacation or even cleaning up yards for dog owners or cleaning barns for farm cows and horses. Many people raise animals; these people are called breeders. There are breeders for every type of animal--all needing different kinds of help.
When we talk about animals we should also remember the people who do research in animal laboratories (to make animal lives better) and people called Entomologists who love creepy crawly bugs like Spiders. There are also jobs for people who do not like certain bugs so they go to homes to eliminate cockroaches and ants.
If you are unsure about which job you would like to do, many places would love to have volunteers work with their animals. Once you decide which animals you would like to help, you may be able to learn about them by volunteering to help someone who is doing the job you might like. Whatever job you chose, I am sure the animals will be very happy to have you as a caregiver.
Some jobs that involve animals and math include wildlife biologists, zoologists, and research scientists. These professionals may collect and analyze data related to animal populations, behavior, or habitats using mathematical models and statistical analysis techniques to make informed decisions and recommendations for conservation or management strategies.
