depends on the jurisdiction hiring................. todays law enforcement field liens toward a minium of an associate degree. A full degree inproves ones chances. Can't say any specific degree would be better. However, a degree in law and justice, police science or law enforcement tends to be the 'preferred' degree. I believe many small town areas do not have any degree requirements do to the cost of colleges and lack of finicial funding in such small towns. However, I highly recomend an effort to secure a degree. Also, another way of entering law enforcement is to secure a part-time police position, thereby obtaining much on the job training for a full time position as well as improving your resume.............
