It is a sort of party game for those who believe in Occult practices. and practice indeed as it can get quite involved and tedious. Participants in a Seance ( roughtly session or seating) take up positions on a dining table- where a Ouija Board or some other occult paraphernalia takes center stage, it starts out like some sort of party or parlor game, as the comic strip character goes, but you never get to see the main Guest, or Ghost! There was a very accurate description of a Seance in the Dondi comic strip some time in the late sixties. naturally lights are down low, candles are used, maybe orange and black ( halloween mix) to create a spooky atmosphere) They might even use trick telephones at some. I have never been to a Seance but I have had some wonderfully wild dreams.
