While some serial killers may target entire families, this is relatively rare compared to targeting individuals. Those who do may have specific motivations, such as revenge or a desire for control. Many serial killers tend to focus on single victims, often selecting individuals based on certain traits or vulnerabilities. Each case is unique, and the motivations can vary significantly among different killers.
that is a very hard question to answer. and part of it is, nobody knows. some serial killers just do it and no one can ever figure it out. but they could also be mentally ill or clinically insane. that is the case a lot of the time. hope that helped!
With so many serial killers not identified, there can not be statistics showing the population of the world's serial killer. 76% of the world's serial killers are in America is a statistic based ongoing studies. The United States only has about seven percent of the world's population, but has been home to over 76% of its serial killers.
Although most news stories about serial killers seem to be about white males, blacks are certainly capable of it as well. Some known cases include: Anthony Sowell: The Cleveland Strangler, Arohn Kee: Convicted of killing at least 3 in East Harlem The "zebra killers": a group of Black Muslims who killed 14 people during a six-month period between 1973 and 1974. See the related link for some additional examples. There are, of course, many examples from Africa where horrific things have happened in the course of the tribal conflicts. It is also possible that since most serial killers tend to remain within their own ethnic group and since, as in Arohn Kee's case, crimes against minorities tend to get less attention, that there may be less likelihood of a black serial killer being caught - but that is only a speculation.
While the exact number of serial killers in Erie, Pennsylvania, is difficult to determine, the city has had a few notable cases over the years. One infamous case is that of Anthony Sowell, who was convicted of multiple murders but was active in the Cleveland area, nearby. Overall, Erie has not been widely recognized for a high prevalence of serial killers compared to larger cities. Specific statistics on the total number may vary and are not definitively recorded.
The California police and the Highway patrol were paying attention to that area believing that the Zodiac killer home could be in Lucerne Valley when the Riverside murders were committed. The invenstigation led nowhere and this case is not solved. In my research about serial killers, I had never read one that was from that area or lived in this area.
