I would add: some jobs in business and finance; some jobs in computing science and IT. A surprising number of college and University courses require some mathematics; for example I know Pharmacy does at some places.

P.S: I am a simple Carpenter & we use Simple Math every day.

Scientists, archaeologists. Cashiers should also know math. Anyone who cooks need to know about converting ingredients and adding fractions. Firefighters need to know about ratios in order for certain things such as CPR. Shoppers should know how to round off numbers and see which quantity is the better deal.

Other reasons to know math:

1. To make sure the cashier gives you the right change.
2. If you have enough money to buy something. (i.e. two Sandwiches with a $5 bill)
3. If you have kids or babysit and help other kids with math.
4. Games, such as Monopoly or Life.
5. To know the average of your favorite Baseball player, etc.
6. How many more minutes until your favorite show comes on.

Its so important if their was no math,then no things which has numbers.Like the clock.

Maths is used on a daily basis. It is used in shopping, bills, coins, everything like that, really. It is used so you know you are not being over charged, it is used in cooking ( measuring) and much more! It may be easier to try and think of what does not require maths.

According to Galileo:

"The universe cannot be read until we have learnt the language and become familiar with the characters in which it is written. It is written in mathematical language, and the letters are triangles, circles and other geometrical figures, without which means it is humanly impossible to comprehend a single word."

What that implies is that you need mathematics for understanding anything about the universe. Mathematics pervades our daily lives: your house? Could not have been built without right angles. Your car? Could not have been designed without mathematics. Your computer, phone and so on? No way! Anything that you have bought? The very concept of trade and barter depends on mathematics. You give me something that I want and I give you money or favours (!) that have an equivalent value. Establishing that equivalence requires mathematics.

Even things like your food in the local supermarket. Logistic companies work out the best way to get the food from the producers to the stores' warehouses and distribute it from there to your local stores. The prices are set through economic aspects of mathematics.

You're going to meet some friends. Where? The answer requires geometry. How far is that? Mathematics again. Have you got enough time to walk there? More maths. You choose to drive instead. How much petrol in the car? Maths. Not enough, so you have got to buy some. How much cash have you got? Maths. So how much can petrol can you afford? Maths. Will that be enough to get there and back? Maths.

There are so very many varied applications, and most of the time you are not even aware that you are using mathematics to work thing out..
