Working as an administrative assistant provides me with personal rewards in the way of accomplishing tasks and duties that are necessary for the department to function efficiently. If I can assist someone with navigating through the organization, providing meaningful answers to the numerous questions, and ensuring that details are taken care of, than I am within my value system, one being; good steward.

As an AA, I am adding value, in that the routine tasks are "off the manger's tasks list." Interruptions are minimized and I can feel confident in answering questions on my manger's behalf since I know the role and what is going on (I see the big picture).

I enjoy the variety of the work, diversity of the people who I interact with on a daily weekly or monthly basis. Also, because I am detail / process oriented I find that as an administrative assistant I am able to use these skills. That's what we do as administrative assistants, we make life better/easier/more efficient, etc. for everyone. (e.g. coworkers, managers, staff, outside personnel, vendors, Board members, parents, student, etc.)
