Why should we hire you over the others waiting to be interviewed?

This is a question that is asked in job interviews. In order to answer it, think of something that makes you stand out from others. Things like "I work hard" or "I'm always on time and do excellent work" just won't do. It has to be something unique about you that makes you the best candidate for the job.

This is a standard interviewers question. What they are offering you is the opportunity to "sell yourself". They are looking at you here to give them all the good reasons why they should employ you over other applicants. To respond to this type of question seek out all the information about the job role you are applying for and then cross match every possible skill you have to meet these. Include also any previous experience in doing some of the tasks which could stand out. These can include when you've had to go the extra mile to get a job done, where maybe you've had to previously do something that other were not capable of doing or that you were singled out to do. The idea is not to "show off" but to give valid reason why you are just the person.

Look also at the role required and be prepared for the areas where you have little of no experience. Give the interviewer the knowledge that whilst this is a new skill to you that you relish the opportunity to learn it an put in practice what learned. No one is 100% right for every job, its the chance to fill the gaps and do well for a new employer that the interviewer is looking for
