Yes, but that depends on where you get your comfort. Some people do feel comfortable when they are around so many people and so find it easier to do work in an office where they will feel not alone. My wife and I have worked remotely exclusively for 4-5 years. Definitely ymmv, but remote work depends on the organization. Several of our friends also work remotely. Industries are manufacturing, sales, finance, consulting, systems integration and building design.

Definitely not for people taking their first steps in the career but once you establish yourself in an office environment you can begin looking for remote work. And remote work isn’t for everybody. You need to keep regular office hours, be extremely self disciplined/self managed, and be able to collaborate and lead when you’re not in the room. It’s tough, to be sure.
