I have lived here 5 years and never heard of one happening. Lost in the park happens a lot but here is a letter of some tips you can do.
One thing I disagree with is the leash. It gets in the way and annoys everyone around you. Do get a place to meet though if your kids are a bit older. Then set meeting times for each other so you know everyone is safe. When a kid is missing you need to be aware that all the parks go on alert and knowing what they are wearing and their name is of the utmost importance.
I am a tech there and we even open our eyes and start looking. I am also taught to look for that kid that is lost or the parent that is frantically looking for the child. Within minutes they are usually put together. Also look at the local vendors. Usually we can sit the child on the counter so you can see them better or they can spot you.
Last thing: The kids are more scared than you. I have seen parents yell at the kid when it is not their fault. When all the legs are in their way and they lose sight of you for a second it's very easy to get lost. Just be proud of the fact they knew they were lost and are looking for you. Then again, remember it wasn't them that got lost -- it was YOU.
AnswerYes children do go missing in Disney and they are usually found... However it is a fact that children have been known to never been found.By strangers, approximately .410. There are on average, according to the FBI, 100-200 child abductions by strangers every year. The numbers for family abductions are not tracked.
There are many good books at your local library about alien abductions. There have been many recorded cases of alien abductions around the world. Many of the interesting cases have occurred in the United States. These stories are very fascinating and may scare the reader.
