Every company has different policies. There is no law that states an employer must write you up twice before firing you. Hiring and firing is at the discretion of an employer.

I ordered some pottery bowls from Italy that were supposed to be personalized before fired as it turned out they came without any of the writing can I have them written on now or is it too late?

It depends on where the writing was supposed to go. If it is on the underside of the bowl, then you could possibly use some sort of diamond bit engraving tool to put some writing on it. But there is always a possibility of breakage when trying to modify pottery that has already been fired, so just understand that there is risk involved. If the writing was supposed to be on the side of the bowl, then I would say there is nothing that can be done unless you glue some sort of engraved plaque on the side. I've never seen anyone engrave through glaze, but I would imagine that it would not look very nice and could possible leave sharp edges.
