The constitution replaced the articles of confederation. The us constitution is what Americans should always live by.
Because congress convinced them that the articles of confederation should be given to them
yes they did...
That Congress should be composed of two houses.
The Constitution requires it.
Congress shall have the power to make all laws that are necessary
That the congress should be divided into two houses.
The Articles of Confederation should reman intact.
It's complicated. There's only one US Constitution, and in it, the President serves four year terms. However, what you are probably asking about is the Articles of Confederation, which are sort of like a Constitution. Under the Articles of Confederation, no term length is specified for the "President of the Continental Congress". Each president served until they resigned or until a new president was elected by the Congress. It should be noted, however, that the President of the Continental Congress was a totally separate position, unrelated to what we now call the President. The PotCC was a largely ceremonial position that had almost no power; the position vaguely resembled the modern position of Speaker of the House. There was no equivalent to the modern presidency under the Articles.
The U.S. Constitution used his idea of checks and balances. The Constitution has the three houses that he suggested and they work just he said they should.
