if the father has custody over the child then yes. I have a step father that i wish was my real father but i have to see my real father twice a year
Well this depends. If the child isn't so happy about having a step father then start out with calling him his name. Then as they get to know each other go to dad. Advise to the Step-father and the mother, don't get to concerned or beat-up if the child doesn't attach to the father quickly it will take time but in the end it will work. Advise to the step-father let the child decide, talk to him/her and discuss their concerns and feelings listen to them and in the end they will feel better and you will feel closer to her/him. Answer 2 Please remember I do not know the circumstances with the real father. I think if your son is on good terms with his real father he should call his step father by his first name as he is not is real father.

Well my step father adopted me. Because mother and step father kept track of when my real father seen me, my real fathers background, what he provided, receipts from what they provided, and in 2 years....if no contact has been made after attempting it may be able to be rulled child abandoment. That's how i got adopted.
A step-father will not be able to adopt a child unless the father signs away his rights. You can take it to court and win the case.
No
You need to have parental consent in any case. If your real father has parental rights, he may choose not to let you, but if he has no parental rights (such as if your step-father has adopted you) then you only need his and your mother's consent.
now a stepfather can't adopt a child without the concent of the child's father
