In order to avoid tax, trucking companies are hiring drivers at a lower pay per mile and per diem. This lowers the drivers taxable income. It also lowers the company's FICA, Medicare, Unemployment taxes. Driver actually receives a lower rate of pay. Cannot claim 2106 expense, lower taxable wages may result in difficulty in getting a loan. Is this legal?
