In California, a felon can own a crossbow, as crossbows are not classified as firearms. However, they must adhere to any conditions set by their parole or probation. It's essential for individuals to check local laws and regulations, as restrictions may vary by jurisdiction. Consulting a legal expert is advisable to ensure compliance with all relevant laws.
can a felon own a crossbow in oregon
No, a felon cannot use any firearm, and technically a bow is a firearm. Firearm definition by ATF is any weapon that propels a deadly object. Kind of dumb since i doubt someone would try to commit a crime with a bow and arrow
Depends if you have any restrictions on you terms of release or probation... I'm a felon and i don't have any restrictions on my probation about dangerous weapons but i know i can not have a rifle spot gun bb gun paintball gun or a muzzle loader (new law passed not many people know about it not even my PO) but in MN you can have, own ,use, possess a archery bow, and a crossbow. The crossbow can only be used during the archery season with a disability permit from the DNR or it may be used Durning the rifle season by anybody...my info is from endless hours of research and from a MN conservation Officer.
No he does not use a crossbow.
the best crossbow to use is rune crossbow. or if u have done the chosen commander quest use the zaniks crossbow.
As a nebraska resident I called game and parks. The interpretaion of nebraska law regarding this varies from county attorney to county attorney. Call the county attorney of residence first to see if you can own one and then the county you are going to hunt in. For example in ottoe county it is permissable to own and hunt with a bow.
I shot your dog with my newly purchased crossbow.
In Maine a convicted felon can use a crossbow to hunt but there are several restrictions. They cannot hunt during expanded archery season, muzzle loading season or during October archery season. They must also have completed a safety course and obtain a valid license.
to use a crossbow you need to noch the arrow in the string then pull back or wind up the string.
I could be wrong about this but I know for a fact that a convicted felon cannot own a gun or be around one unless he gets a pardon from the govenor and I think it's really hard to get so a crossbow is a weapon. They may not claim it as a gun but it is and I know that felons cannot have, own or possess a firearm or weapon. I could be wrong about this but I hope this helps answer your question. You may want to call your local authorities and ask them. L.A.R.S 14:95 prohibits convicted felons from owning, purchasing or possessing "FIREARMS" a firearm is defined in other sections of the but is shown in 14:95 to include "shotguns, rifles, machine guns. pistols, black power guns" or devices that use explosive powder to discharge a projectile / ammunition. A bow / crossbow is not considered a "FIREARM" I am a convicted felon and I hunt with a compound bow sometimes twice a day! Im not sure if a separate classification exist for crossbows , possibly on the federal level. I would check that out before I took off through the woods,, It could be 15 years before you come out the other side!!! Good luck
Yes, you can own them but dont use them in the wrong situation. But no you cant bring them to the PA
You need a lawyer for a current, legal and correct answer.
