If by more than "one type" you mean can you be a criminal and civil litigator at the same time the answer is yes, although most attorneys specialize in one or the other. If you mean can you be a prosecutor and defense attorney at different time periods the answer is also yes. Many attorneys work as prosecutors or assistant prosecutors before entering private practice as defense attorneys.
