I guess it depends on the situation.... you weren't too thorough.... if a judge releases an inmate on a PR bond(this means they are being released with no bail on the condition the inmate agrees to return to court. This usually occurs when the jails are getting full and they need to make room for new inmates and is practically never offered to felons or those who have a 'not appearing in court's on their police record.) the inmate is in fact released but when he/she returns to court they judge may sentence them jail time if found guilty. If they commuted a felony in, say Arkansas, if the federal government tri's and convicts this person and is later released the state government of Arkansas could not re-tri this person for the same crime and put the person back in jail as that would be 'double jeopardy'. The practice of law is very complex but full of loop holes so it seriously depends on the situation. I'd need more information to determine if it could be done but the judge probably has been doing this for a long time so I'm sure he/she wouldn't risk their job by falsely imprisonating someone.
no
No, Richard Branson has not been jailed. He is a successful businessman and founder of the Virgin Group.
The State Bureau of Prisons should have a locater service. Call their number (located in the governemnt listings in the phone book), and with the name of the inmate, they should be able to tell you where he is housed. This will only work if the inmate has been remanded to THEIR custody. They will not be able to help you if the inmate is jailed in a local facility on a local charge. ________________________________________________________________________ The State of NY has an online "Inmate Look-Up Service". See the link below entitled "NY Inmate Lookup"
I assume the question is asking whether or not the perpetrators of the Darfurian genocide have been held responsible for their crimes. (The wording is awkward.) The answer is NO. The genocide still continues and there has not been a single perpetrator jailed or who has been in front of any judge or tribunal.

Unfortunately there is no way to answer this; the vast majority of infringement cases are settled long before they reach the courts. It is only safe to say that no one has been jailed for watching illegally downloaded movies; uploaders and linkers have been.
