Disability Compensation: Veterans rated as 100% disabled receive monthly disability compensation payments from the VA.
Yes
No Veterans service connected disability pay is not reported on your income tax return. You do receive a 1099 information form from the VA for the amount of your disability pay that youu receive during the year.
Yes, you can receive VA disability benefits while serving in the reserves, and being mobilized for active duty does not disqualify you from those benefits. However, the impact of mobilization on your benefits may vary based on your specific circumstances and the nature of your disability. It's important to inform the VA of any changes in your service status and consult with a VA representative for personalized guidance.
In that case NO you would not be required to file a tax return.
To my understanding you should not have to, but you may want to go onto the VA website and check the state by state laws that apply to disabled vets. This also changes if you are more than 30%. The website link for this via my award letter is http://www.VA.gov/statedva.htm

Your VA disability to my knowledge is untouchable to all creditors, to include child support, and student loans. Your student loans will affect your credit report negatively until it is in good standing. It will never go away or default. You can not claim it on a bankruptcy either.
