No you cannot fly a plane at the age of eight. But You can take flight lessons and hope the flight instructor lets you fly!. And you cant get your licenses till the youngest age of 16 and your private licenses till the age of 17.

In America you could ba any age to fly a plane but you had to be atleast 18 to join the army some 16 year olds lied about their age to get to fly a plane.

In Scotland you can fly solo from the age of 16 and u can apply for your NPPL/PPL when you turn 17. I assume it's the same for the whole of the UK
