No !!!! this is a civil matter the repo guys like you to think that the cops will arrest you and they encourage that lie on sites like this.Think about it if the repo scum could get the cops to do their work for them they would. In AZ, look up ARS 13-2204. actually, here it is for you: Arizona REVISED STATUTES TITLE 13. CRIMINAL CODE CHAPTER 22. BUSINESS AND COMMERCIAL FRAUDS
It depends entirely on the laws in your state!! Some states allow repo men almost unlimited power while in other states there are very strict guidelines as to the power they have and how they use it. Check your local laws regarding what repo men in YOUR state are allowed to do. Good Luck
Yes, its theft.
no you can not go to jail if you dont want to give up your car.it is not possible for you to steal your own car. it is registered under your name.there for dont let them take your car
NO, not for just being repoed.
NOT just for a simple repo NO. IF there are other complications added to the repo, maybe.
maybe, but first there gonna just repo the car
i dont know but i do believe they usually let you take out your items
I am a repo-Woman. If you purchased your car from a car lot, the car lot keeps a copy to the keys in case they need to reposess the car in the future when you dont pay. The repo-person can also get a key to the car from a dealer, such as GMC, etc. Or they can have a blank key, that accesses any car. If they dont have a key, they can tow it without a key. Pay for your car and you dont have to worry about it, :O)
if its not yours and you keep it it is stealing. stealing a car is grand theft auto. yes, you will go to jail for it. it is a felony.
no probably not to jail, just to court with a demand to return the car. If the repo. people can get it they will. In other words if you drive it you may lose it anywhere you go. They will watch for it. I do repos and take cars from where ever they maybe. But in Ill. no you wouldn't go to jail. Just court if I couldn't get it. That has never been the case. Sooner or later you will drive it and someone will take it. If you don't need to drive you would just let them have it back. so sooner or later someone will take it. If you have really PO'd your lender, he can go to court and get a writ of replevin. When the repo man shows up the next time the sheriff will be with him and they will leave with the car or you.
they can either repo the car, and you won't get into trouble, or they could find you and the car and there is a chance that you will go to a county jail for 2 to 30 days.AnswerFirst of the repo guys are not "authorities" they represent the bank that's it.They cannot have you arrested and you will not go to jail Repo guys like to scare you with that kind of crap.Look at it this way don't you think the repo guys (some of the laziest people around)would have the cops do their job for them if they could???This is a civil matter not crimminal!!!!! Cops deal with crimminal !
YES, If the note is not paid on time they can. If you want to know what they can and cant do read your contract (all of it) It spells out what would cause them to repo.
NO, but you can get it repaired. Do you have any proof that it was the repo that damaged it?
Are you kidding ? You pay the past due balance plus repo fee. Assuming they havent already sold it they will give it back. They dont want the car, they want the money.
