They can work as many hours a day as they wish.. they just can't drive for more than 11, they can't drive after the 14 hour clock is up, etc.

It would depend on what your job is. A cruise ship employee may work for more than 8 hours a day and the schedule of their work could also be shifting.
There is no limit on the number of hours a 16 year old can work in Alabama or any other state. If under 16 a child can work no more than 3 hours a day in Alabama.
