Do employers keep pay stubs on file?

Are pay stubs required?

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) does require that employers keep accurate records of hours worked and wages paid to employees. However, the FLSA does not require an employer to provide employees pay stubs.

Yes. = ans = They keep the information as part of accounting and payroll records, but not nessasarilary in the same format you receive. Very commonly, the values are really maintained on a quarterly or periodic basis, and maybe not in extreme detail (like by individual) as it may not be required for all payments it makes. (Most all employers are required to have payroll records for tax purposes on specific computer formats, not paper).
