The safety of roads have been improved by adding:
1. speed cameras
2. speed limits
3. traffic lights
4. oncoming priority
5. yellow lines at the end of motorways
6. lolly pop ladies
7. speed bumps
8. zebra crossings
9. crash barriers
If you are doing science coursework, the points mentioned above are just some examples that you might find useful to include, I dought you would any more!! just develop each point in to a paragraph and and i hope that you succeed. For example....
Other ways of keeping our roads safer is the existence traffic lights. These allow drivers to move easily through the junctions and four ways. They also control traffic and have been the biggest success of road safety over the century. These turn green to go and red to stop.
A newer development is speed bumps. These are bumps raised from concrete. They force drivers to slow down in order to go over them safely. These are usually placed near schools were children known to run in the streets and also pedestrianised places such as city centres were high speed can be life threatening.
Furthermore in populated places zebra crossings are common. These thick white lines on the road give priority to the pedestrians meaning that cars have to stop while they cross the road safely.
Speed limits have been inserted on different limits depending on the location. For example the speed limit in a residential area is 30 mph whereas in a motorway its 70 mph. Those whom are caught going over the limit will face the law.
Speed cameras are used to catch those breaking the speed limit. Some of them take a picture when you go past then take a second picture at certain distance. They use speed= distance / time to work out the cars speed. Those who break the speed limit will be fined as the registration plate is also taken in the picture. When caught more than once river risk losing their licence and so, when near speed cameras most slow down.
Another is yellow lines crossing the road at the end of motorways, or places were speed change dramatically. These yellow lines inform the drivers of the distance they have to decelerate in order to be driving at the right speed.
Lastly, in residential areas and compacted roads a system as "oncoming priority" is used. This means that every 100 meters the cars take in turn to prioritise the other driver. This requires them to stop and give way meaning that their speed has dropped and the road is less congested.
First you get a license then you advertise.
To promote road safety
Road Safety Foundation's population is 2,007.
you need road safety because it makes our comunity safe.
Most often, accidents happen as a result of a road user's negligence or lack of awareness about road safety. As a result, learning about road safety is just as important as learning other survival basics.
Do not cycle on the road
Road safety means that your right to alway be safe o the road. this includes you are obeying the road rules in oder for you to be safe and free from accidents...
Bicyclists should ride on the right side of the road, in the same direction as traffic, to ensure their safety and the safety of others.
Road safety helps in reducing the number of road deaths and injuries. A lifelong approach to road safety and responsibilities of the users changes lots of accidents and range of situation. Road Traffic Collisions is of late killing more young people than the health concern issues.
A road user's attitude can promote safety to and from school by obeying the road regulations and driving defensively.
One can learn about road safety by reading books on the rules of the road and also by speaking with police officers about how one can be a safe driver.
