How can you prevent being homeless?

To be a homeless person you must simply forgo living in any one place (i.e. an apartment, condo, duplex, mansion, old people's care center, etc.), and you will be considered homeless.

Being homeless is not something one should dream of, however. There are millions of opportunities in life waiting for everyone, and anyone could reach out for those opportunities at anytime to live their dreams.

You probably don't- not completely. People become homeless for many different reasons. Sometimes it is money- a person loses their job, or has unplanned extremely high bills (medical bills are often a problem). Sometimes it is a matter of mental illness, or alcohol/ drug abuse. Sometimes the person is a runaway, or has had to leave an abusive relationship. In order to REDUCE homelessness, you would need to address the underlying cause. If a person has an untreated mental illness that prevents them from caring for themselves, or they are addicted to drugs, giving them a brand new house would do nothing (except destroy a brand new house). Sorry, but there is no one quick and easy answer to this.

In some cases yes, some people choose to not work, and will then become homeless. Others cannot find a job, or are disabled, and cannot get a job.

Find a shelter and check into it. Ask them. They will know of all the programs in your area that can assist you.
