A 20 year old is already emancipated due to being over 18. If you have a freeloader that just won't leave the house, you ask him to leave and cut off all funding to him and stop bailing him out of Jail. If he still won't leave, you can have the police come and have him pack all of his things and then they'll escort him from the house. This NOT a good thing to threaten him with if he doesn't move on his own; just do it. You may need to change all of your locks and get a restraining order. This is all very hard to do, but it's necessary when he keeps getting into trouble with the Law. What if he starts selling or making drugs in your home (I know this is extreme, but it happens more and more today). You could be victims of drive-by shootings our worse. And please don't think, "Not my baby", because he is no longer a baby, and to be honest, it's hard to judge what anyone is capable of in these 'Last days'. I heard of a man who actually beat his mother to death because he "had a good thing going and didn't want to leave". Let him be a man and stand on his own 'two feet' to provide for himself. You're not helping him by taking care of him.
