In Iowa, a school permit allows a student to drive to and from school and school-sponsored activities. If attending church qualifies as a school-sponsored activity endorsed by the school, then you can drive there. However, for any other non-school-related trips, including going to church, you would typically need a full driver's license. Always check with local regulations or your school's guidelines for specific rules.
