very good question, i have done this myself. first, it won't be easy and you can't do it cold turkey. while you are working you need to network. hopefully you can find someone already in the business that is doing this and can get you in easy. if not, you need to start doing phone and door-knocking work. call contractors, show up to construction sites, ask people if they know anyone that needs work done.
