How do you know if you should be with someone?

If you enjoy spending every moment with them. You look forward to seeing them, and being around them makes you happy. Just seeing their face lightens your day. When you are apart you think about them, and wish you were with them. You like how they act, what they do for you, and how they treat you. You share common values, and have respect for each other. Both of you find yourself looking into each others eyes, and have a deep sense of trust that can't be broken.

Honestly, there is no real "way" to know. There's no "How-to" book, or instruction manual on being in a relationship. However, there are things you could ask yourself that will help you understand the situation you're in, or may soon end up in.

~ Many people say that if you don't want to be around them all the time, then don't be together. Don't take the exact statement to heart. Sometimes, it may mean you simply need personal space. But if more often then not, you're attempting to avoid them, it's probably best to stop trying to make it work.

~ If you're uncomfortable around them, or their friends, you should try to move swiftly away. Don't get caught up in a sticky situation. If you feel inferior to them, unconfident in yourself, and you can't talk to them about it, being with that person is definitely a bad idea.

~ Know what you're feeling. If you are experiencing feelings and emotions that are unfamiliar and "foreign" to you, explore them, and try to figure out if they're good and happy, or bad and odd.

~ If you are dating, and are questioning your relationship or not trusting your partner, it's not good. Figure out whyyou feel this way.

There are definitely many more ways to understand your relationship. These are very few. Here are some good signs:

~ The person makes me you feel different than you've ever felt with past crushes or partners, and in a good, bubbly way.

~ If you're in school together (I don't know how old you are), and in class together, you constantly think about them, and stare at each other. Key word: each other; if you both stare, there's something going on.

~ If you're like me (ambitious, a wishful thinker, believes in magic, and is sometimes called "lame"), and you try to will a dream about them, that's a good sign. (I've tried. It worked once.)

~ You think about them a lot. Even if you like more than one person, the one you think about most, and you believe in most, is right.

~ You flirt a lot and they flirt back. You mean it.

~ While reading this, you thought of the one person.

I really like this guy. I usually like smart, hot, mysterious guys. This time he's not very smart, but is cute, and funny, and nice. He comforted me when I cried during gym. He compliments me all the time. I am fourteen, and I haven't really lived yet, and I've never had a boyfriend. Some might say that makes me young and foolish and naive. But just because I've never had a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, it doesn't mean I've never experienced love. Don't take this lightly. If you're meant to be, you will be. Life has a crazy way of working itself out, but it always does.

Obviously, first of all you have to like each other's personality/character traits and at least have enough physical attraction to create interest. You need to be certain you truly can respect and trust the other person. Beyond that, having common interests, likes and dislikes is something that often indicates whether or not a long-term relationship is worth seeking, and that should include a host of things, everything from hobbies and recreational preferences to diet and religion. I know the statement, "opposites attract" has been out there forever, but in my opinion, while they may attract initially, "opposites" do not make a close relationship. And of course, the ability to not only like but to love that person is key, and so it whether or not that person will be able to love you to the same extent. Usually it is only by spending a lot of time with each other that you can form an honest opinion in this regard. Good luck.

its not complexed if you find someone who is your best friend and friendship comes first then and only then you are compatible with someone. its the same as male and female friendships, if the two of you feel relaxed with each other and you both feel you don't have anything to prove then that is compatible with someone.
