Like most states, there IS no registration of ordinary firearms in TN. When buying a gun from a dealer, the dealer maintains a record of your purchase AT their shop, and does conduct a computer background check of the buyer, but that does not "register" the gun with any agency. Just move to TN from another state, and brought a gun with you? No problem as long as you are a law abiding adult that is not prohibited from possessing a gun- and again, no registration. Welcome to TN.

Depends on how the local and state laws are written.
