You have to take all your pills according to the directions and one the bottle is empty you can get a refill
The above answer is simplistic and uninformed. Most prescriptions are written for 30 days which means it will occasionally land on a weekend when a particular pharmacy is closed meaning a person may have to go 2 days without their medicine. It has been my experience prescriptions can be filled without problems at 25 days but i have also read an informed source that states a prescription may be filled at 75% of the time period listed.
no, you cannot, because that would be illegal.
when days supply is used up You can usually get a refill a day or two before you run out, unless it is a narcotic drug. Sometimes if you are going on vacation, you can get as early as a week in advance, it just depends on what the drug is.
I had adderall XR prescribed for about a year and a half, id have to wait it out until the amount of the prescription was gone, then call my doc to refil it. Some times I'd get 1 or 2 less. (stupid walmart would give me less.) anywho I'd call my doctor like a few days early and shed put it in and I wouldn't have to wait at all besides the amount of pills in my bottle.
Yes, want to know the answer! Cannot tell the level of the eye drops in the 'little' bottle, and my pharmacy cannot refill my script because it's too early.
Yes. Most pharmacies will allow you to pick up a monthly prescription up to a week early.
aabout 5 months or so
Most of the time yes they will. Like if you're leaving for a trip or if it's only one or two days early then most places will refill the prescription. You could have gotten all of the medicine at once anyway, so they really can't keep you from getting the rest of it whenever you want to. Now if it's a new prescription for the same medicine then you might run into trouble, but if the same doctor gave you another script then I don't think they have a choice. You will run into problems if you have gone to more than one doctor and gotten the same medicine, maybe even serious problems. Do not do this, you could risk legal action against you. These are not facts by any means, but it seems from my experiences this is the way it works.
You can never get your prescription early cuz i tried. It worked for about 6 months; i use to get my xanax 1-2 wks early And now my medical card will gve it to me on time once in a blue moon or 3-5 days later. I think that's BS!!!!
50 cents.
If you are bringing a prescription to the pharmacy and they tell you it is too soon for a refill, it could be because your insurance only allows a one month supply to be dispensed at one time. If you already have refills on a previous prescription, then ask the pharmacy to place the new prescription on hold for you. Most insurance companies will allow you to fill your prescriptions 5 to 7 days early, so if you are diligent in requesting refills in timely fashion, you will have saved almost a 3 month supply of medication at the end of the year. If you are calling in for a refill and they tell you it is too soon, it is because of your insurance. Depending on the type of medication, i.e not a controlled substance, you may want your doctor to re-write the prescription for a 90 day supply and either take it to a pharmacy that will honor a generic 90 day Rx for $10 or $12 or connect with a mail order pharmacy. Most doctors are happy to change the Rx for your pocketbook and usually without another office visit! In many cases, if you already have a prescription at a pharmacy, you can ask the pharmacy to send a refill request to your doctor and ask specifically for a 90 day supply...Most pharmacies are happy to do this as well. The plan is: call around and find out which pharmacies carry your drug in a generic and offer a discount, if money is an issue...many times the generic 90 day discounts are less than your co-pay for a one month supply. It pays to shop around and get the lists of generics from all of your local pharmacies. Be sure to inform the pharmacy ahead of time that you do NOT want the prescription run through on your insurance...that will save a lot of time and frustration at the pick up window!
